Polisario Spin again!!!
Hi All,
Unfortunately we will have to cancel the event at the Casula Powerhouse, due to circumstances that are out of our hands. This has to do with the POLISARIO's propaganda and their attempts to undermine the film and continue to perpetuate slavery in the Tinduf refugee camps.
THE BONDI PAVILION SCREENING IS GOING AHEAD, SO PLEASE COME TO BONDI ON THE 8TH OF NOVEMBER AT 6:30 PM AND SUPPORT STOLEN BEFORE GOING TO AMSTERDAM
For you to be aware, I am attaching the e-mails received by Mark Clyburn, this is again an example of the pressure the government is going to ban the film. The Polisario and their supporters rather than look forward to get rid of slavery, they slander a film that is there for everyone to see. There is nothing they can do legally against the film so they are trying to use their spin machine. STOLEN has the support of the best film festivals in the world.

The event will only cost around $400. I'm only charging you for the cost of staff support, not for hire fees. This, of course, does not cover the $1 for each ticket - we are charged $1 for each ticket printed by the ticketing company so we must recoup these costs.
As I said on the phone, we have no digibeta deck but we have used one before so if it's cheaper to hire or borrow one than to convert your copy to HDVD, then it would be the best way to go.
We do sell tickets in advance and they can be purchased over the phone, online and at our box office.
I will send details to out marketing team so that we can get some the info out on our email lists.
I'll send the contract soon but the date is locked so you can start spreading the word.

Hi Violeta
It has come to our attention that certain challenges have been made towards your film. Due to the number of credible doubts put forth regarding the way your film was made, and as we are a Government-owned organisation, we cannot be seen to be presenting your film or supporting it in any way.
I realise we were going to show the film as a partnered relationship venture but if the film is to be shown here, the entire venue fee of $1,450 must be paid. We are more than happy to have your film shown in our venue but the fee must be paid for it to be seen as a ‘hire event’ and not an event that is given privilege over any other hirer who is willing to pay the full amount.
I know this will be upsetting for you but I hope you understand the predicament we are in. Being a taxpayer funded organisation, we must work transparently at all times and work within guidelines and standards.
